Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit buzzmopolitan.com, why we do it and what rights you have. Last updated: 4 November 2026.

1. Who Is Responsible

The controller is GMO Registry US, Inc., 200 Continental Drive, Suite 401, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Contact: info@buzzmopolitan.com. Our Imprint names our representatives where the law requires them.

2. What We Process When You Visit

When you open a page, our web server automatically records technical data in log files: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, your browser type and operating system, the amount of data sent and the response status. We use this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and find faults. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a stable and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is kept only for as long as these purposes require and is then deleted or anonymised.

3. Hosting

The website is hosted on WP Cloud, a service of Automattic Inc. Our pages may be served from the host’s own caching network, so your request can be answered by a server close to you. The host receives your IP address and the technical data your browser sends with each request. It processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement, only to run the hosting service. We rely on our legitimate interest in a fast and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Automattic’s privacy information is at automattic.com/privacy.

4. Cookies, Advertising and Analytics

Buzzmopolitan shows no advertising. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, social media plug-ins or analytics tools. All fonts, images and scripts load from our own domain, not from third-party servers. Because we set no cookies and use no tracking, we do not show a cookie banner.

5. Comments, Accounts and Uploads

Readers cannot create accounts, post comments or upload files, so we do not collect names, email addresses or comment data from readers. The members of our editorial team have accounts that store a name, an email address and login data, which we use only to run the website.

6. When You Write to Us

If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, where your message concerns a contract, the steps before or the performance of that contract (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete your message when your request is dealt with and no legal retention duty applies. Please do not send sensitive personal data, such as health details, by email.

7. Recipients and Transfers Outside Your Country

Our hosting provider receives the data described above as our processor. We pass data to authorities only where the law requires it. We are based in the United States, so data is processed there. For visitors from the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, we rely on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another safeguard permitted by Article 45 or 46 GDPR (or the UK equivalent). Our articles link to other websites, such as the sources we cite. If you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that website applies.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR and UK GDPR

  • Access to your personal data (Article 15).
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16).
  • Erasure (Article 17).
  • Restriction of processing (Article 18).
  • A portable copy of data you gave us (Article 20).
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21).
  • Withdrawal of consent at any time, with effect for the future (Article 7(3)). We do not currently rely on consent.

To use these rights, write to info@buzzmopolitan.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office. The authorities of the EU and EEA countries are listed on the EDPB website.

9. Residents of US States

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising and we do not process sensitive personal information. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what we hold about you and to access, correct or delete it. Send your request to info@buzzmopolitan.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we respond within the time your state’s law requires.

10. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

11. Security and Data Breaches

We protect data with technical and organisational measures, including TLS encryption of data in transit. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the competent authority and the people affected wherever the law requires it. We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling.

12. Changes

We update this policy when our service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
